Victorian Government launches Home Energy Grant to encourage residential lighting upgrades

2025-03-27

To help residents reduce energy costs and improve home energy efficiency, the Victorian government launched a one-off $250 energy grant program on July 1, 2023. This grant is designed to encourage residents to reduce energy consumption and electricity bills through energy-saving measures such as upgrading lighting. Eligible households need to provide a recent residential electricity bill and apply through the Victorian Energy Compare website. The grant program is expected to last until June 30, 2023. Through this move, the government hopes to raise residents' attention to energy efficiency and promote the adoption of more energy-efficient lighting solutions, such as LED lamps, to achieve statewide energy conservation and environmental protection goals.
